Systems Engineering Process:
Systems Engineering Process is a proven method used primarily in the manufacturing industry to bring a product from a conceptual idea to the shelf for the consumers. It is an effective, economical application of scientific and engineering efforts to transform operational needs into a defined system configuration through the top-down iterative process of requirements definition, functional analysis and allocation, synthesis, tradeoffs and optimization, design, test and evaluation. By adapting this process into our telecommunication design and operation, we are able to bring conceptual idea into reality on time and within budget.
About Nettek’s President
Tan Nguyen graduated from Virginia Tech in 1995 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. While interning at TRW (now known as Northrop Grumman) during his last years of college, he was exposed to the System Engineering Process. Realizing the importance of this process, he got his MS degree in Systems Engineering in 2000, also from Virginia Tech. This education served him well while he was working at Hughes (now known as Raytheon). With this education and experiences in telecommunication, he is able to adapt the systems engineering process to telecommunication projects.
Conclusion:
We pride ourselves in understanding the basics of telecommunication, its technologies, and the software programming required to support corporate and governmental agencies daily challenges. From these basic understandings and comprehension of the systems engineering process, we are able to build, maintain, and resolve complex WAN, LAN, and application issues ranging from application performance problems to cabling problems.

Nettek’s 8 Layers of the OSI Model TM:
In order for small businesses to be successful in today’s complex business environment, we must not only understand the basics of the 7 Layers of the OSI model to help us resolve complex problems, we must also understand the 8th layer.
This 8th layer collects all types of information from customer’s existing capabilities, hardware, software, personnel resources and identifies the directions the customers heading towards. (i.e. customers’ existing environment). Understanding the customer’s existing environment improves the product and services we provide at a competitive cost. Your employees can be one of the best technical employees, but not having someone who understands Nettek’s 8th layer of the OSI can cost your corporation or agencies additional expenses and delays
Layer 8: Customers Environment and Requirements (Flexibilities and constraints)
Layer 7: Application
Layer 6: Presentation
Layer 5: Session
